UPDATE: Vince Zampella's LinkedIn profile has also been updated to suggest he no longer works at Infinity Ward.
ORIGINAL: Over the last four hours (9:03 pm Tuesday 2 March, 2010), the internet has been rife with speculation over a rift between Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 developer Infinity Ward, and its publisher, Activision Blizzard.
An SEC form filed by Activision Blizzard earlier today reports that “the Company is concluding an internal human resources inquiry into breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward.
“This matter is expected to involve the departure of key personnel and litigation.”
It is rumoured that the two employees are Infinity Ward CTO Jason West and CEO Vince Zampella. West’s Facebook and LinkedIn profiles have been updated to suggest that he is no longer employed at Infinity Ward.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was the best selling console title in the U.S. and Europe in 2009, reports Activision Blizzard.
