In Ubisoft’s quarterly earnings conference call last November, Ubisoft CFO Alain Martinez suggested that “there might be something around Assassin’s Creed” in 2010. As to the nature of what it might be, we could only speculate.
Today, Ubisoft have briefly teased a new episode in the Assassin’s Creed series for the upcoming fiscal year, April 1, 2010 to March 1, 2011. Martinez has said that Ubisoft plan to release “a new episode of Assassin's Creed, which will be the first in the series to have an online multiplayer mode.” As yet, there are no other details.
Ubisoft have also announced that Assassin’s Creed II, which is selling 40% faster than the original, has now sold over six million copies, and is expected to sell a further three million copies by March.
In other Ubisoft news, the developer has delayed Splinter Cell: Conviction back to April and its World War II strategy title R.U.S.E. into the upcoming fiscal year.
