Kotaku reported from GC08 last week that Valve's marketing director, Doug Lombardi, revealed that the Xbox 360 version of Team Fortress 2 would be receiving a long-overdue downloadable content package. It's been promised for later in the year.

Since its release last October, the PC version of Team Fortress 2 has received numerous amounts of additional content:- including new maps and game modes; more class-specific achievements; and additional unlockable weapons and taunts for the Medic, Pyro and Heavy classes. This has left jealous console owners of the game wanting a piece of the pie.

The DLC package will not be free though, unfortunately. No price has been finalised yet, but Valve's is aiming for USD$10 or as little as possible.

No plans were revealed concerning the PS3 port. Although this writer reckons that PS3 owners should remain pessimistic, since it's a well-known fact that EA's port of The Orange Box has been treated like a red-headed step-child. Reportedly there's a lot of missing features and gimped functionality, especially in-regard to the multiplayer component (aka TF2). See links here and here for more information on the matter.
