Here's your chance to dominate 6,000 years of human history. Carve it up and serve it how you wish - you are in control, and much more control that usual. Check out these key features of Microsoft's new real time strategy game Rise of Nations: -

    * Cross Genre Gameplay
    It's not turn based but it's not your typical RTS either. This fusion of frantic gameplay (a-la RTS) and depth of strategy (a-la "Civilization" style turn-based strategy game) promises to give just that little bit more to keen RTS gamers.
    * Advance through time
    Similar to how Age of Empires works, you work to advance your civilization through the ages in order to improve your technology as fast as possible. This has, of course, various military and economic advantages...
    * Zooming Scale
    Zoom right in to see your peasants hard at work or right out to manage your territorial borders - and every step in between.
    * Multiple Victory Conditions
    You don't have to just slaughter the opposition - you can do that if you want to, of course, but you can also seek diplomatic victory or simply form such a strong society that all others will fear attacking you.
    * Streamlined multiplayer
    You don't have to operate in grand scale (as per singleplayer) in a battle with your friends - a simplified battle mode means that you can quickly get about the messy end of the game, delivering the final blow and staking your claim as the supreme player for all time.
