Report: Namco to sue Witcher 2 developer

Namco Bandai is to sue Witcher 2 development studio CD Projekt RED after it was revealed THQ would assume publishing duties for the Xbox 360 version of the game, reports Gamepur.

According to the report, Namco claims CD Projekt has broken its publishing agreement twice, first by removing the game’s Digital Rights Management (DRM) software in a post-release patch, and now by moving to THQ.

“As with most cases, we first tried to end the dispute peacefully,” said CD Projekt CEO Adam Kicinski. “Attempts failed and because of this, we hoped that our partner would send the case to the court.”
