I pre-ordered it because it's cheap on CD Wow and they get it a week before Mighty Ape, although they will probably take a week to deliver it anyway. Looks good to me, a realistic racing game where the graphics are not crap - finally!

Both appear to have the same 18 September release date... (which is the official date from EA)

Definitely looks good imo, and I am always pretty skeptical of NFS games nowdays, though ultimately I think it will be nothing more than something to tide people over until Forza 3.

Try not to prejudge Shift by previous NFS games, they are calling it a "reboot" for the franchise, so hopefully it will be a step forwards.

In any case it will be a good few months for driving fans with Shift, Forza 3 and GT5 all due out by Xmas!

Yeah initially I did prejudge Shift because of the NFS tag, but as time has gone on I have started to really think it looks good, what I meant was it was always going to be even harder for this game to appeal to me because of previous NFS encounters, so the fact it has won me on side is a testament to how good I think it could be :)

No pre release demo though which usually worries me a little. The in cockpit view is freakin sweet.

From those vids to me it looks average. Graphics. Grid looks better. Physics (just from watching car movements) looks poor.

I doubt they will stray far from their usual trash and their last 4 or so titles were so bad I don't want to risk wasting money on it.

Agree with you - Can tell by the car movements it looks more q- than _b
They definitely know how to make good trailers though, lol.

Ah I just really don't know.
I loved Carbon and played it for hours and hours with my flatmate.
Then I bought Pro-Street and played it for about 5 hours and gave up.
So i was hesitant about Undercover but grabbed it as the trailers looked sweet - completed maybe 1/3 the missions but gave up and i felt it was just tedious.

Oh. They brought it forward. Was the 25th back when I posted.

The IGN review sounds good. Can't wait to get it :)
It's weird to be looking forward to an NFS game again. Thank goodness EA got a new developer for it.

Cool! Will look forward to that! :D

You can tell on that video review the physics dont look good, even the guy on the video review admits its still not a complete simulation racer & controls are still a little arcady.
Besides that, everything else looks a winner!

Was doing 6 secs 1/4 mile in NSX
