Remedy's Quantum Break includes a trailer for a live-action series based on Alan Wake, Polygon reports.
In the game's early stages, the player explores a university featuring a chalkboard filled with notes about Remedy's previous game's protagonist, but the reference gets curiouser when the player interacts with a television in a nearby location.
The television displays a trailer for a live-action Alan Wake adaptation, entitled Return, which stars a pair of detectives (one played by Remedy creative director Sam Lake) investigating a missing Alan Wake even as he investigates them.
It alludes to the blurred lines between fiction and reality in the game it references, and ends on a cliffhanger.
Remedy registered a trademark for the title Alan Wake's Return last week, but it's unclear whether it will be merely an in-game TV show, like those appearing in the Max Payne games, or a lead-up to a full series or even a new Alan Wake game.
Quantum Break launches April 5th on Xbox One and Windows 10; meanwhile, here are some new screenshots.
