343 Industries is working on adding unranked multiplayer playlists to Halo 5: Guardians, according to a company rep.

Posting on the TeamBeyond forums, a 343 representative responded to calls for unranked play by saying, "we've heard the requests and we are actively working towards supporting unranked playlists for Arena in a future update."

"It may seem straightforward on the surface but lighting up unranked play in Arena is not as simple as flipping a switch."

Currently, every multiplayer playlist in Halo 5 is ranked, making every match count towards your overall rank.

Social playlists would allow players to participate in matches purely for fun, with the pressure of ranking taken off.

The 343 rep did not comment on a timeframe for the proposed update.
