Payday 2: Crimewave Edition is coming to new-gen consoles in June, and will include almost all the game’s DLC to date.
More than a dozen pieces of DLC have been released for the robbery FPS, and they've added weapons, heists, and new mechanics to the game.
Crimewave Edition will run at a resolution of 1080p.
“We can't say for definite it will be 60fps as we're still in testing, but it will definitely be an improved experience [over last-gen’s 30fps]," producer Almir Listo told Eurogamer.
However, Overkill might be able to squeeze more out of Sony’s console.
"They [PS4 and Xbox One] are both going to be... I don't know if I'm able to say 'identical', but basically we're going to cram in as much as we can," Listo told VideoGamer.
"It would be unfair of me to say that they're going to be identical, because if hypothetically speaking we can make the PS4 make better stuff than the Xbox One does, then why wouldn't we do that? If we can take it up a notch, improve the frame rate a bit or whatever, why wouldn't we do that?"
Those with saved games on last-gen consoles won’t be able to keep them on new-gen, but Overkill is considering some kind of upgrade discount.
"For the PC version we've promised content up to 2016 and onwards," said Almir.
"That's the same for the Crimewave Edition too. With the dawn of the new console it is so much easier for us to add new content into the game."
More than nine million copies of Payday 2 have been sold so far.
