In our first look at the forthcoming Grand Theft Auto IV, we have the first three pieces of artwork released for the game, and some of the details announced so far.
Responding to the cries of millions of Xbox 360 owners, Rockstar Games is publishing Grand Theft Auto IV one the Xbox 360 at the same time as its native PS3 release.
Grand Theft Auto IV is expected to be in stores on October 19 this year.
But there's more. Rockstar has formed a strategic alliance with Microsoft to provide exclusive episodic content via Xbox Live, giving the community "ever-expanding gameplay experiences that simply aren’t possible on other consoles".
And more. Also one day one, a special edition will be presented in a customised metal safety deposit box, with:
- * Game on the relevant format in special packaging
* Art book featuring never-before-seen production artwork
* Selected soundtrack CD, featuring new material from top artists only available on this release
* An exclusive Rockstar keychain for the safety deposit box keys
* Limited edition Rockstar duffel bag
The special edition will retail for US$90 in North America - look out for final local pricing details closer to release.
We're hoping to get our hands on the game for a trial before its release, so look out for an updated preview later. From 6am tomorrow morning, Rockstar will be releasing a trailer, “Looking for that Special Someone,” Xbox Live Marketplace. You can check out the first trailer on GP Downloads and we'll have the second one up on the site, too. The first trailer was one of the most downloaded trailers to date on Xbox Live Marketplace.
To celebrate the release of the second trailer, Xbox 360 gamers will be also able to download exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV theme and gamer pics from Xbox Live Marketplace.
