There’s a sentence we never expected to write. 2K games has today announced that Duke Nukem Forever has gone gold, a jargon term for the process of pressing the game to discs and shipping for distribution.

While this is an everyday occurrence, Duke gets special mention as until last year the game – first announced 14 years ago – was considered vapourware.

Duke Nukem Forever is coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on June 10th. All that’s left to be determined is whether it has been worth the wait.
