Harmonix’s Rock Band and Dance Central franchises may not be dead and buried after all.

Last weekend, as reported by Gamespot, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos told a PAX East crowd that his company hoped to bring both to new-gen consoles.

"[The Rock Band and Dance Central franchises] are near and dear to our hearts and our minds, and we have grand plans to bring back both of them with guns blazing at some point in the coming console cycle," said Rigopulos.

The most recent core Rock Band was 2010's Rock Band 3, although the downloadable Rock Band Blitz came out in 2012.

The last Dance Central game was 2012's Dance Central 3.

Harmonix is currently working on a music title for Xbox 360 and Xbox One called Fantasia: Music Evolved, as well as a free-to-play FPS called Chroma.
