Anyone who has been following Marvel vs Capcom for many years will be aware that it has a reputation for taking the cross-over concept to new levels, with a wide variety of players, and crazy combos and moves.

Now we’ve reached the HD era, and with it the release of Marvel vs Capcom 3. As with many franchises stepping out into the world of high definition, there’s a delicate balance between bringing it up to the visual standard expected, and still remembering to tweak, improve and innovate the rest of the game behind the effects.

Capcom have mostly succeeded this time around. Certainly the game looks pretty damn good at 1080p, with 3D models on a 2D plane, much like Street Fighter IV. The graphics are crisp, bright, and incredibly fast. It can sometimes be a little hard to tell what’s going on, especially if you are new to the franchise, and I’d suggest taking the epilepsy warning at the start of the game quite seriously.

Capcom has released a spate of new screens coinciding with the additions of Nathan Spencer, Magneto, Sir Arthur and M.O.D.O.K. to Marvel vs. Capcom 3 at the New York Comic Con.

Capcom has finally released a series of screenshots showing Marvel's Spider-Man and Capcom's Wesker as they'll appear in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The two characters were added to the roster at the Tokyo Game Show.

Not merely content with the additions of Tron Bonne and X-23 to Marvel vs. Capcom 3’s roster at the Tokyo Game Show, Capcom has also confirmed that Spider-Man and Wesker will join the list of playable fighters.

The inclusion of Marvel’s friendly neighbourhood web-slinger comes as no surprise.

Capcom’s leather-clad Albert Wesker is the villainous master puppeteer of the Resident Evil series.

X-23 and Tron Bonne confirmed for MvC3

Capcom has confirmed that Tron Bonne and X-23 will be joining the fray in highly-anticipated fighter Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

From the Marvel universe, X-23 is a female clone of Wolverine. She first appeared in the TV series X-Men: Evolution and has since migrated to the comics.

From the Capcom universe, Tron Bonne is from the Mega Man games. Along with her siblings Teisel Bonne and Bon Bonne, Tron Bonne is a pirate. She is also the creator of the robots used by the Bonnes in their elaborate schemes. Tron Bonne eventually falls for Mega Man.

Additionally, Asgard, home of Thor, has been confirmed as a level in the game.

Capcom has released 14 new screenshots to coincide with the announcement at Comic Con of four new playable characters for Marvel vs.Capcom 3. The characters are Marvel's Doctor Doom and Super-Skrull, and Capcom's Chun Li and Trish from Devil May Cry.
