The Wii U will launch in Australia and New Zealand on November 30, Nintendo has announced.
The console will have 2GB onboard memory – 1GB for games and 1GB for the system software – and Wii U discs will have a capacity of 25GB.
Wii owners will be able to transfer their WiiWare and Virtual Console games over to the Wii U, and all Wii controllers are compatible with the Wii U.
The console will launch in two flavours: Basic and Premium.
The Wii U Basic Pack will feature a Wii U console with 8GB internal storage and a Wii U gamepad (tablet controller), both in white. Its suggested retail price will be AU$349.95.
The Wii U Premium Pack will contain a black Wii U console with 32GB of internal storage and a black gamepad.
It will also contain a stand for the gamepad and console, a charging cradle for the gamepad, a sensor bar, the Nintendo Land game, and will retail at around AU$429.95.
The premium set will also contain membership to a reward programme called Nintendo Network Premium that grants points for digital purchases in Nintendo eShop.
Valued at around 10% of an item's Nintendo eShop price, these points can be used as credit against future purchases once you reach a minimum of 500 points.
