GT5 sells 5.5 million worldwide

Sony has announced that as of December 6th, driving simulator Gran Turismo 5 has sold 5.5 million units worldwide.

These latest figures bring total sales of the nine game Polyphony series to 61.2 million.

Gameplanet’s Dan Cheer had high praise for Gran Turismo 5, declaring it the best racing simulator available on the PlayStation 3.

So far so good, like all GT games they'll still sell long after the release date. Still surprised of how well GT3 sold in the US compared to all the other GTs. You would think GT5 would do pretty well in US with NASCAR in the game and its pretty fun! I'd hate to watch NASCAR but playing its fun to play online/single player and I bet its lots better with a steering wheel
