Shatter to invade Asia

Sidhe, New Zealand's largest game production studio, today announced that its award winning brick-breaking game Shatter will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment Asia (SCE Asia) across the Asia-Pacific region.

The game will be available for download in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, South Korea and Malaysia via PlayStation Store beginning May 26th. In the weeks following the release of the game, SCE Asia will release the official Shatter Soundtrack and then the Dynamic Theme which recently became available in North America.

"Seeing Shatter continue to grow almost a year after our original announcement is very rewarding, and a testament to the global appeal of the game."

Wellington game studio Sidhe has once again proven that it is up with the best in the industry, after its game Shatter, planned for the PlayStaton Network, earned a nomination from website 1UP.com for “Best in Show” in the most innovative game category.

Sidhe’s co-founder Mario Wynands, who was grinning from ear to ear when I caught up with him, says the stars have certainly aligned for the Wellington-based company, and that the 1UP.com reporter who stopped to see the game had only intended to stay for five minutes. He ended up played the game for half an hour.

“He said he’d be back later,” Wynands said.
