The much-anticipated Dark Souls III has a Japanese release date of March 24, the game's official site reveals.

That date only refers to the console version, though, as Google Translate indicates the Windows version's release date will be announced "at a later date."

Limited editions of the game will include a printed map of the game's world and an original soundtrack CD.

Director Hidetaka Miyazaki's return to the Souls series has been heralded for its refinements to combat and restoration of the interlocking world design of the first Dark Souls.

A Western release date has not yet been announced, but will likely hew close to the Japanese date.
