Bungie has announced that House of Wolves, the next expansion to Destiny won't launch with a raid.

A new raid will be added later in the year. In the meantime, players will engage in a new kind of end-game activity, said the developer.

“We didn’t make this decision lightly. Our team has been humbled by the reception of Raids in Destiny and we are creating a new Raid for a release later this year,” Bungie said.

The new end-game activity will be a battle Arena called The Prison of Elders. It is focused on "variety, replayability, and skill," Bungie said.

House of Wolves, hits all platforms on May 19.

Activision is promising to post more information on the expansion’s official site in the coming weeks.

House of Wolves is Destiny's second major addition, the first being The Dark Below which launched in December.
