Gamers who have pre-ordered Bungie's upcoming shared world shooter Destiny have also been granted access to the beta.
It appears that Bungie has been keeping a pleasant secret: each beta key yields not one but three download keys, meaning players can invite two friends to join them. As Bungie notes, this means you'll have "enough to field a full Fireteam on the console of your choosing!"
The codes will then be emailed to players when the beta goes live.
The beta will begin at 5am on July 18 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 owners, go offline on July 22 and 23, open for all platforms at 5am on July 24, and finish at 6:59pm on July 28.
Activision has also announced Collector’s Editions of the game, as well as an Expansion Pass which includes access to the game’s first two pieces of DLC: The Dark Below and House of Wolves.
Destiny is set for release September 9.
