Explore the alien landscape of Karemoon, a world filled with beauty, brutality and mystery, on a lone quest to overthrow the malevolent tyrant Maletoth.

The story of Aarbron is told once more. Re-live the legend.

Nearly 25 years ago, a game was released that would burn a lasting impression on the mind of gamers, Shadow of the Beast on the Amiga. It followed a monstrous warrior named Aarbron as he sought revenge against the beast lord that transformed him from a human. Now, Heavy Spectrum Games - a new studio comprised of devs who've worked on Need For Speed, Star Fox, Battlefield, and the Sims - is bringing the story to a whole new audience, re-imagining Shadow of the Beast as a hyper violent next-gen adventure.

Shadow of the Beast review

Shadow of the Beast is an action title whose combat simply isn't particularly enjoyable. Throw in some off-putting map design, and you have a game that's a shadow of what it could have been.

Long before the original PlayStation came out, a now-defunct company called Psygnosis published Shadow of the Beast. Its graphics and soundtrack, which were remarkable for the time, managed to generate a lot of buzz and interest for a game that was, in every other way, almost entirely forgettable.

27 years later, Sony has published a PlayStation 4 exclusive reboot for reasons that, having played through the entire (short) thing, aren’t obvious. Shadow of the Beast retains the original’s core lack of anything interesting whatsoever, but completely fails to excel in either the soundtrack or graphics departments – let alone both.

Like Giant Sparrow’s last game The Unfinished Swan, What Remains of Edith Finch is a first-person Sony exclusive about exploring the unknown. This time, the unknown is a large manor in Washington State where the player (as Edith Finch) searches for clues about the mysterious deaths of her family members.

The manor is a hub world of sorts that plays like Gone Home, and Edith narrates as you rifle through various possessions left behind by the deceased. However, when you enter the bedroom of a family member, the gameplay and tone of the game shift, and you are transported into a interactive short story told from the perspective of that person.
