Capcom has finally addressed concerns around the price of Street Fighter V's Pro Tour DLC, which it announced at EVO 2016 in July.

The game's Pro Tour Premier Package includes three new costumes, the new Ring of Destiny stage, and 22 exclusive colours and special titles, but sets players back a whopping NZ$40.

In July, Capcom said that "a portion" of proceeds from the DLC would go towards the Capcom Cup 2016 prize pool. The company has finally clarified exactly how much via PlayStation Blog:

Capcom will spend more time developing and polishing its games, following the disastrous launch of Street Fighter V.

In the company's recent financial briefing, CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto explained that extended development was be the cause of lower-than-expected (¥13.6 billion / NZ$185 million) earnings projections for the coming year.

He admitted that "some aspects of Street Fighter 5 needed more polish, such as the lack of content and server issues at launch."

Street Fighter V's servers are down for maintenance "indefinitely," bringing a nightmarish launch week to a close.

The servers went offline at 8am AEST / 10am NZDT for a projected three-hour maintenance job, only to have the downtime extended by an hour, and then "indefinitely."

The launch of the fighting sequel has been fraught with issues and complaints from fans, ranging from launch-day crashes and poor matchmaking to network lag and missing features from previous editions.

Capcom intends to reach a wider audience with Street Fighter V, says series producer Yoshinori Ono.

Speaking with Edge magazine (via sister publication GamesRadar), Ono said the upcoming game represents and a "fantastic opportunity" to attempt something with a larger scope.

“A game that encompasses all that Street Fighter has become in the last few years, but which also expands on that to become something it has never been before as well," Ono said.
