The man responsible for the look of Journey and Flower has launched his own studio.

Former thatgamecompany art director Matt Nava has founded a studio by the name of Giant Squid, which is looking to emulate the success of his last employer.

"We plan to create innovative and deeply moving games that will inspire players, challenge convention, and push the boundaries of experiential and narrative interactive entertainment into new and unexpected areas," said Nava.

Nava is joined at Giant Squid by Journey composer Austin Wintory. Flow game designer Nicholas Clark will act as adviser to the new start up.

The Santa Monica-based studio is currently hiring for a number of positions, with ideal candidate attributes including a love of Lego and 1995 Angelina Jolie film Hackers.
