Grand Theft Auto V on PC delayed for a third time

The PC release of Grand Theft Auto V has been pushed back for a third time.

The game is now scheduled to launch on April 14. It was initially expected on January 27, then delayed until March 24.

“Our apologies to PC gamers worldwide who have been counting down the days until the launch of the game, but a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the GTA Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC,” said Rockstar.

“As a gesture of thanks for your understanding, we will grant anyone who has pre-ordered the game an additional $200,000 in-game cash for use in GTA Online.

“The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is our most graphically and technically advanced version yet, fully optimized to support a broad range of current hardware and features a host of PC-specific enhancements including greater levels of detail, deep configuration options and ultra-high-definition support – as well as the powerful new Rockstar Editor for recording, staging and editing original custom videos," it added.

Destiny to add Heroic Strike matchmaking

Bungie will add a frequently requested feature in Destiny patch 1.1.1: Heroic Strike Matchmaking.

The change means players will no longer need to rely on friend lists or third-party services to take on some of the game's top tier weekly content.

“We wanted the Weekly Heroics to be a challenge that pushed you and your buddies, but what we observed was that these strikes don’t demand the same cooperation of a cohesive pre-made group,” said design lead M.E. Chung.

EA has released an infographic calling out data from the recent Battlefield Hardline open beta.

More than 7 million people played the beta, said EA. Players stole $2.8 billion in Heist bank jobs. Players busted more than 3.8 million vaults and hotwired over 38 million cars. There were 28 million Hotwire takedowns.

The operator class was by far the most popular, with 57 percent of all players opting for play it. 21 percent chose mechanic, 18 percent chose professional, and just 6 percent chose enforcer.

In total, the cops won 57 percent of all matches played, suggesting that there's still some fine tuning to do.

Battlefield Hardline multiplayer concept art captures urban America

EA has released seven large pieces of concept art that have inspired Battlefield Hardline's mulitplayer maps.

In an in-house interview, Battlefield Hardline creative director Ian Milham described the game's art direction as "heightened, dramatic realism."

"We’re not worried about authenticity so much as believability. Our maps are based on real places without being dictated by them. We want them to be quickly readable to keep players focused on the objective, but full of enough details and secrets to reward deep investigation."
