An investor call has revealed that the FPS version of XCOM that was announced back in 2010 is still in development at Take-Two Interactive.

Simply titled XCOM, the game has a troubled development history, having been passed from Irrational Games to 2K Australia, and finally to 2K Marin.

The 60s-era prequel has seen several delays, with its launch date moving from November 2011 all the way through to 2013-2014.

Last week, the investor call outlined a "fiscal year 2014" release date for the game, which puts it between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014.

"2K Marin continues to make progress on XCOM," said Take-Two.

Last October, leaked screenshots of the game showed what appeared to be a third-person action title, and a survey asked how players would feel about the game being a budget price Xbox Live and PlayStation Network title rather than a full-price game.
