Due for release on 7th November, The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning sees the cute purple dragon sticking it to hordes of brutish foes as a search for his origins escalates into something of an epic quest.

Developers Krome Studios, creators of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, have been charged with breathing new life into the Spyro series for consoles and the Game Boy Advance (with Amaze Entertainment handling the Nintendo DS version). Krome has tackled this challenge on a couple of fronts: by shifting the focus from a platform game - albeit with combat and action elements, to a combat-based adventure; and by placing more emphasis on the storyline, which quickly develops into a saga of substance. At times we could almost believe we were watching some big budget animated movie rather than playing a video game.
