An upgraded GTA: San Andreas coming to mobile

An upgraded version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is coming to mobile next month, Rockstar has announced.

The biggest Grand Theft Auto title of the PlayStation 2 era, San Andreas on mobile will feature newly remastered graphics including dynamic and detailed shadows, a greater draw distance, an enriched color palette, and enhanced character and car models.

It will also boast brand new touch controls including contextual control options to display buttons only when you need them, as well as three different control schemes for driving.

It’s not the HD remake gamers are hoping for, but Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is coming to PlayStation 3.

Often cited as the second-best Grand Theft Auto by those too young to appreciate the genius of GTAIII, San Andreas is coming to PlayStation Store as a PS2 Classic this week.

The game debuted on PlayStation 2 back in 2004, and went on to sell an estimated 17.33 million copies, making it the best-selling PlayStation 2 game of all time.

Hot Coffee scandal "draining and upsetting" – Rockstar

The discovery of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’ “Hot Coffee” minigame code and the subsequent investigation by the Federal Trade Commission took its toll on Rockstar, Dan Houser says.

“It was draining and upsetting, a tough time in the company,” the Rockstar creative VP told The Guardian.

“The massive social decay that we were supposed to induce hasn’t happened. So in that regard, a lot of those debates that used to go on, they’re not such a big deal now.”
