Three Fields Entertainment's spiritual successor to Burnout will be based specifically on Burnout 3: Takedown.

The studio, made up of former Criterion developers, tweeted that the game, code-named "Shiny Red Something," will succeed "the third one."

Such a direction would indicate the open-world driving of Burnout Paradise will not be making a return.
