After a strong first day, Tom Clancy's The Division continued to break records in its first week.

Ubisoft announced today that the open-world MMO shooter now holds the record for highest revenue for a new brand in its first five days, at US$330 million.

That beats out previous record-holder Destiny's US$325 million, though that game still holds the title for most copies sold.

Direct comparisons are made slightly more difficult, however, in that Destiny launched on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, whereas The Division abandoned previous-gen consoles in favour of new-gen and PC.

The Division also now holds Ubisoft's internal first-week sales record, though specific figures have not been given.

The game is available now on new-gen consoles and PC; while we compile our review, check out our initial impressions podcast.
