Call of Duty: Black Ops III will bring official PC modding tools to the series for the first time, according to developer Treyarch.
Director of development Cesar Stastny revealed the plans in a blog post today.
When the tools are complete, players will be able to create their own custom maps and game modes for the anticipated shooter.
The package will also include dedicated server files and an unranked server browser to enable custom game servers.
Treyarch is targeting March 2016 for a closed alpha of the mod tools, but Stastny stressed that in software development, "things don’t always work out exactly as planned."
Call of Duty: Black Ops III launches November 6 on new-gen and previous-gen consoles and PC.
