As expected, Wii U survival-horror title ZombiU is coming to new-gen and PC.

According to publisher Ubisoft, Zombi has been optimized for the new platforms using the power of the latest generation of hardware to bring gamers to a new level of horror.

It originally released on the Wii U on November 30, 2012.

ZombiU is the strongest launch title on the Wii U, and an sound entry into the survival horror genre, but poor melee combat controls and a groundhog day approach to mission design hold Ubisoft's game back,” we wrote at the game’s release.

The game’s inventory and permadeath systems arrive intact: tools, first aid kits, maps and more can only be accessed by searching through a bag which obscures the player’s view of the action, and upon character death, the player has one chance to get back to his or her equipment before it is lost forever.

“For the second time in history, a great plague has shrouded the city in a fog of death,” said Ubisoft. “Thousands have died, or worse, been infected by a sickness more gruesome than death.”

Zombi launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC on August 18.
