All Evolve maps released after the game comes out will be available to all players free of charge, says developer Turtle Rock.

Evolve blends cooperative and competitive multiplayer experiences as a team of four hunters face off against a single, player-controlled monster. Set on an alien planet in the distant future, players hunt their prey in 4v1 matches.

Speaking with IGN, Turtle Rock creative director Phil Robb said the studio didn't want to divide the playerbase.

“We can’t break the community up, so all of our maps will be free,” said Robb. “We never want anyone to get booted off of a server because they haven’t bought something.

“We’ll have [DLC] characters and monsters, and even if you don’t buy them, if your buddy wants to buy the DLC, that’s cool, and your game will be enhanced through his purchase.

“You won’t be able to play as those characters, but you will certainly be able to play with those characters.”

Evolve will now be released on February 10, 2014, for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One.
