A new video by Cyberith shows its omnidirectional treadmill, The Virtualizer, being used to play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

In the video, The Virtualizer is being used in conjunction with an Oculus Rift and Wii remotes.

It is similar to Virtuix's Omni treadmill, except that it doesn’t require special shoes, and it can detect when players crouch, jump, and sit thanks to an in-built sensor system.

"The device is designed to work in a 'plug and play' manner. Thus, it is very easy to set up and install. Because the Virtualizer is to be used with plain socks it does not yield the risk of noise disturbance," said Cyberith.

The final version will weigh approximately 45 kilograms

Cyberith’s official site has footage of The Virtualizer being used to play Arma 3 and Grand Theft Auto 4.

The company plans to have the treadmill on the market in the US by the end of 2014. A price is yet to be announced.
