Free-to-play action RPG MMO Marvel Heroes will launch worldwide on June 4, Gazillion Entertainment has announced.

The exception: those who purchased Founders Packs will get early access, beginning on May 28. These are still available from the game’s official site.

The following heroes have been announced as playable: Black Panther, Black Widow, Cable, Captain America, Colossus, Cyclops, Daredevil, Deadpool, Emma Frost, Hawkeye, Hulk, Human Torch, Iron Man, Jean Grey, Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Nova, The Punisher, Rocket Raccoon, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Squirrel Girl, Storm, Thing, Thor, and Wolverine.

Marvel Heroes claims to feature “a deep leveling system unique to each Super Hero, diverse locations set across the expansive Marvel Universe, a robust crafting system, action-packed player-versus-player and much more”.

It was created by Blizzard North co-founder and now Gazillion CEO David Brevik (Diablo, Diablo II) and features an original story by Marvel super-scribe Brian Michael Bendis.

“When we started working on Marvel Heroes we knew exactly what we wanted to make – an unrivaled multiplayer free-to-play action-RPG experience that allowed gamers and comic fans to play as their favorite Super Heroes,” said Brevik.

“This is an incredibly exciting day for all of us at Gazillion and we can’t wait to let gamers experience the Marvel Heroes world and our fresh take on the massively multiplayer online genre.”

Marvel Heroes will be available on June 4 as a free download for Windows PC.

A Mac version is in the works.
