StarCraft Universe, a mod for StarCraft II that turns the game into an MMO-style RPG, has been released through Battle.net.

The project caught the attention of Blizzard in 2011 when it was called World of StarCraft, but a name change and a couple of years of development later, it’s ready for players.

Only a singleplayer campaign is available right now, but multiplayer dungeon raids for five to 10 players are on the way.

As it stands, StarCraft Universe offers custom maps, eight classes, character customisation, voice acting, custom physics, and vehicle combat.
