Final BioShock 2 DLC coming to PC again

After recently announcing that the final two downloadable content packs for BioShock 2 would not be released for PC, 2K has said today that both Minerva’s Den and Trial of the Protector will in fact be available on the platform.

2K said on its official forums, “When we announced that Protector Trials and Minerva's Den would not be coming out for the PC due to technical and timing issues, we received a lot of feedback (much of it understandably expressing disappointment and anger) about our decision.

"Over the past two weeks, we've decided to go back and finish the PC patch and Protector Trials. Currently, we are patching the final bugs in these two pieces of content and then will submit everything to certification.

Final DLC for BioShock 2 announced

2K has announced the final downloadable content pack for BioShock 2, called Minerva’s Den.

The pack is a self-contained singleplayer experience that will put players in control of a new character that teams up with Dr. Brigid Tenenbaum to “unravel a dictator's stranglehold” on the new district of Rapture Central Computing.

The DLC will include new weaponry, a new plasmid mutation, more dangerous splicers that command the power of the elements and upgraded security bots armed with lightning bolts and rockets, states the press release. Most interestingly, Minerva’s Den will introduce a never-before-seen new type of Big Daddy – the series’ distinctive mournful aquanauts. From what we can tell from the two released screenshots, below, this one appears to be airborne.
