Ubisoft has released a playable demo for the PC version of R.U.S.E., giving you the chance to try out the latest RTS game developed by Eugen Systems.

Developed for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, R.U.S.E. allows players to bluff their enemies and lead their nation to victory.

In the demo, players will lead the US Army in fighting against Germany and Italy. They will have to combine deceptive strategies and eventually resort to nuclear strikes.

 

The “big surprise” coming for those interested in R.U.S.E is a free preview weekend.

The free weekend starts at 6.00am Saturday, July 16, NZST and continues over the weekend. Over that period, players will be able to download and play a preview build of the game on Steam.

“The Free Preview Weekend of R.U.S.E. will let you play a sizeable slice of the multiplayer, featuring new maps never played before. Play with 2 to 8 players, with any team or free-for-all combination, and with any of the 6 factions available in the final game.

 

Ubisoft has confirmed that R.U.S.E will include Move compatibility on the PlayStation 3 when the game releases later this year.

Using the controller as a pointer, players will be able to select units, create structures and move the camera.

Speaking with Eurogamer, senior producer Mathieu Girard said, “I wasn't sure if it was just going to be a gadget but it turns out it's a very cool and natural controller. We're very excited about it.” He went on to say that using Move creates “the most enjoyable [R.U.S.E] experience” but suggested that the PC’s mouse and keyboard will remain the most efficient.

 

Ubisoft are teasing what appears to be either another beta or a demo for their upcoming title R.U.S.E. Last week, senior producer Mathieu Girard wrote on the game's official forum, "In a matter of days, I will announce a big surprise, a special treat for all our fans."

Now on the game's facebook page is a small image showing the Steam logo and "15-7" (which we assume refers to the 15th of July).

Stay tuned. The game is scheduled for release in September.

 

Ubisoft has announced today that a public beta for R.U.S.E will begin March 10th New Zealand time. The beta client will be available for download on Steam.

Ubisoft’s Aymeric Evennou tweeted, “w00t! A #RUSE Public Beta will be available to everyone on Steam on March 9th ! Stay tuned as more details will come throughout the week !”

R.U.S.E is a real-time strategy title that highlights bluffing your enemy. Players can deploy decoys, camouflage their units and sabotage their opponents’ logistics.
