Grand Theft Auto IV PC

Review

Rockstar have provided PC gamers with Liberty City in all its glory. Rather than simply pushing out another port, they've included improved multiplayer support, a surprisingly easy to use video editor, and graphics that won't look out of place two years from now. The multiplayer alone makes it a must-buy.

Grand Theft Auto IV patched

Rockstar have issued a minor patch for Grand Theft Auto IV, fixing four problems with the sandbox title.

Patch 1.0.7.0 fixes a bug that causes tree leaves to look transparent, and another that prevents uploading of rendered videos to Social Club when attaching certain music tracks.

In addition, the clip capture "OFF" slowdowns occurring when near water's edge have been resolved, and the developers have exposed "detonate" in custom key mapping options menu for The Lost and Damned so users can now remap their "down" arrow key.

Rumour: New GTA by end of 09?

NEWS by Dan Cheer 16 Jan 2009, 9:28 am

According to Game Informer Issue 190, Rockstar may be on track to deliver a new GTA title by the end of this year;

"We're not talking about new DLC or a collection of previously available DLC, we're talking about a full retail game. We expect this title to follow the suit of previous GTAs and use a subtitle such as GTA: San Andreas, etc. Tokyo might be a possible setting for the game, but details are non-existent at this time."

This would seem to follow on with the rate of expansion show with Grand Theft Auto III, as Vice City only trailed by a year or so. If this is true, one question will remain - now that Rockstar have a solid foundation, can they improve the depth of the story and silence GTA IV critics?

Grand Theft Auto IV is the next chapter of the award-winning Grand Theft Auto franchise from Rockstar Games.

What does the American Dream mean today? For Niko Bellic, fresh off the boat from Europe, it is the hope he can escape his past. For his cousin, Roman, it is the vision that together they can find fortune in Liberty City, gateway to the land of opportunity.

As they slip into debt and are dragged into a criminal underworld by a series of shysters, thieves and sociopaths, they discover that the reality is very different from the dream in a city that worships money and status, and is heaven for those who have them and a living nightmare for those who don't.
