Borderlands patched

Gearbox Software have released a new patch for Borderlands, updating this sci-fi shooter to v1.40.

Among other minor fixes, certain items (such as loyalty class mods) will no longer be destroyed when loading a map that varies from that in which they were originally found.

New Borderlands DLC announced

2K has announced a new downloadable content pack for Borderlands, called Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution, due next month.

In it, players will find themselves caught in the midst of a civil war between homicidal Claptrap robots and the Hyperion Corporation’s armadas. Operating as mercenaries for the Hyperion Corporation, players will work to bring down the robot revolution and dispatch their cunning leader the Claptrap Ninja Assassin.

“What gamer doesn’t love a kung-fu-wielding Ninja Assassin Claptrap with nunchuck skills?” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K.

 

Previous Borderlands DLC to get disc release

2K Games has announced today that the first two downloadable content packs for Borderlands, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned and Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, will be released on disc. Last week’s DLC release, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, will not be included but can be purchased and downloaded through each platform’s online distribution channels.

Gameplanet scored The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned 9/10 and Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot 4.5/10.

Borderlands’ Knoxx DLC drops, PC patched

Borderlands downloadable content pack The Secret Armory of General Knoxx has been released today for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

The DLC unlocks a new zone with 44 quests, a new type of weapon rarity and raises the level cap to 61.

The DLC costs 800 Microsoft points on Xbox Live, and USD $8.99 on both the PlayStation network and PC.

The PC client has also been patched. A full list of changes follows:

New Borderlands DLC announced

2K Games and Gearbox have announced over the weekend the latest downloadable content pack for Borderlands: The Secret Armory of General Knoxx.

The DLC, in development for the PS3, 360 and PC, sets players in a face-off with new enemies in a new environment and will provide them with “tons” of new missions, say 2K.

But perhaps of most interest is the announcement that the DLC will extend the level cap beyond 50.

As more details become available, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Gearbox Software has patched the PC version of Borderlands, bringing this action sci-fi shooter to v1.20.

This patch will allows users to play the second DLC "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot". The patch is required in order to play this DLC, however it does not include it.

Borderlands DLC comes to PC

Gearbox have now released the first downloadable content for Borderlands, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, for the PC.

The additional content can be bought on Gearbox’s website, or via Steam for USD $9.99. The DLC sees players teaming up with Dr. Ned to hunt down his errant undead creations in Jakob’s Cove.

Gearbox trademarks “Borderworlds”

Borderlands developer Gearbox has trademarked the name Borderworlds, implying that the successful new intellectual property will receive a sequel likely to be set several planets.

First hints of a sequel are unsurprising given the game’s critical and financial success – not to mention that in November, Gearbox said a sequel was a “no brainer.”

Gearbox and 2K games have said today that the first downloadable expansion to Borderlands, called “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned”, will be available for download on the 24th of November for both PlayStation and Xbox 360.

The DLC will see players teaming up with Dr. Ned to hunt down his errant undead creations in Jakob’s Cove. The expansion will cost USD $9.99 or 800 Microsoft points. No date as yet on when the expansion will be available for PC players.
