I gotta say, as far as game developers go, Blizzard seem to do a good job of not doing the "same tired bullshit"... they're far from perfect, but they're a metric shit tonne better than what EA puts out these days.
Blizzard not doing the "same tired bullshit"? Oh wow, have you not seen Starcraft 2 (1/3)? The epitome of "same tired shit".
As for being "metric shit tonnes better" than EA? Blizzard games have some of the worst writing in the game business. EA's Bioware can be criticised for recycling narrative structures and character archetypes, but they still produce games with compelling characters and stories that are interesting enough to become invested in.
Honestly, have you seen some of this shit?
"YOU ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE."
"NO. AS LONG AS I'M HERE, THEY ARE THE PREY... AND I AM THE HUNTER."
"...AND IF THEY KEEP COMING, I'LL NEVER STOP KILLING."

I was referring to people QQing about the D3 art style.

Definitely agree about that. Even though I'm a regular WoW player, love the Starcraft and Diablo series, you just can't compare the writing to say the Mass Effect series. But when it comes to gameplay I feel that Blizzard tend to hit the target most often than not
