To celebrate the launch of Tomb Raider: Underworld across New Zealand on Friday 5th December, the Tomb Raider Challenge will showcase the environmental puzzle solving aspects of the game via an innovative digital artefact hunt.
Pioneering Google’s ground breaking technology, Google Earth, the Tomb Raider Challenge invites residents of Australia and New Zealand to decipher clues and fly around the earth to find digital artefacts.
Eidos Interactive today confirmed that the new official Tomb Raider: Underworld website has just gone live.
Created entirely from in-game footage, the interactive site showcases some of the locations found in Tomb Raider: Underworld and takes players on a journey to the depths of the Kraken Room in the Mediterranean, on the muddy bike trails in Chiapas, Mexico and deep into the hostile jungles of Thailand.
Every section of the site is playable and provides visitors with a set of diverse mini challenges based around some of the events that take place within the Tomb Raider: Underworld game. Those completing the challenges on the site will be rewarded with a series of exclusive unlockable items.
Eidos Interactive have announced that the demo for Tomb Raider: Underworld is now available for the Xbox 360 through the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. The demo is a chance to become a part of the epic adventure that awaits players when Tomb Raider: Underworld launches in late November.
The demo will have players travelling to the western coast of Thailand - the second destination in Tomb Raider: Underworld - to experience a taste of the adventure that is to come. Gamers can master steep coastal cliffs, navigate perilous and crumbling ruins, evade vicious wild animals and use state-of-the-art gear such as the grapple or the new Field Assistance System to create and uncover paths that will take players deep into the challenging wilds of Thailand.
Tomb Raider: Underworld will release on the Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, and PC Games for Windows platforms. The Tomb Raider: Underworld demo is offered in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish and will also be available for the PC on October 31st. A series of additional exclusive downloadable chapters will also be made available on Xbox LIVE starting later this year.
