Blizzard's World of Warcraft panel at BlizzCon this afternoon gave a high-level overview of the changes that the Cataclysm expansion will bring.
To summarise, the following major changes and additions have been announced:
- Level cap increase to 85
- New Worgen and Goblin classes introduced
- You will now be able to fly everywhere
- Content upgrades for level 1-60
- Seven new zones: Hyjal, Lost Isles, Gilneas, Twilight Highlands, Vashj'ir, Uldum, Deepholm
- Dynamic changes to Azeroth's land based on the Cataclysm lore
- New race and class combinations
- Archaeology as a new profession
- Guilds will now get level ups, and new features such as mass resurrection
- New masteries to prevent stacking talent points
- New artwork, classic zones and cities greatly enhanced and expanded
- Three new PvP zones
