Now I understand all the posts about "beta testing"

Saw this a couple of days ago on Neogaf (but oddly didn't see any claims of Japanese systems suffering from the same thing - perhaps because less people imported). It seems to be pretty rare and apparently the system update fixes it in a lot of cases anyway. Will just keep my fingers crossed that mine is OK

Good news in the bad though is that Nintendo is at least acknowledging it and saying to send it in for repair, not just trying to fob us off by saying it's user error and not covered under warranty or something lame like that.
