Sonic spin-offs Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal will be released on November 29, Nintendo has announced.

The former is a Wii U title from new studio Big Red Button, while the latter is coming to 3DS courtesy of Sanzaru Games (God of War Collection on the PS Vita).

Both serve as prequels to the upcoming Sonic Boom animated television series.

The games see Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and newcomer Sticks band together to defeat both familiar and powerful new enemies.

Each offers an “all-new Sonic experience that will usher in new gameplay based on action-adventure combat, new characters and environments”, according to publisher Sega.
