Activision has today announced Spider-Man: Edge of Time. Developed by Activision-owned studio Beenox, the game sees Spider-Man facing “one of his greatest challenges ever – saving Spider-Man.”

Players will control both the classic Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 as they try to correct a time continuum gone awry and prevent the death of their civilian alter-ego Peter Parker.

The story is penned by Spider-Man 2099 writer Peter David.

The game features a “cause-and-effect” system wherein the actions of one Spider-Man will impact on the reality of the other.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time is scheduled for release in New Zealand’s spring.
