Major Nelson has confirmed that the rumoured controller upgrade for Xbox 360 – one that includes a much-needed revamp of the D-Pad – is in production and will be released on the 9th of November in the US. It is estimated for release in February in Europe.

The controller’s D-Pad has two modes that can be switched between with a manual twist – the flat disc you’ve come to loathe, and a raised cross.

The colour-coded buttons have also been grey-washed “for added style,” apparently.

The controller will retail for USD $64.99 and will come bundled with a Play & Charge Kit.
