Square Enix have announced over the weekend that Final Fantasy XIII will be released in the west on the 9th of March and that the theme song for the latest iteration of the J-RPG will be Leona Lewis’ “My Hands” from her upcoming album, Echo.

Originally only touted for the PlayStation 3, Square Enix later announced the game would see a simultaneous release on the Xbox 360. The developer expects to ship 6 million copies of the title worldwide.

Final Fantasy XIII concerns itself with the story of Lightning as she sets out to defy her destiny and kill the denizens of “Pulse” with – if previous iterations are any indication – an array of oversized guns and blades. Dr. Freud to reception, please.
