GameSpy have reported that following a press conference earlier this morning, Nintendo have unveiled a new DS model.
Called the Nintendo DSi, the unit is smaller than its predecessor, and features a good deal of new functionality, including two 640x480 resolution 0.3 megapixel digital cameras, internal memory and SD card support, and slightly larger dual screens.

The DSi's dual cameras will point both inside and outside of the unit's shell, and users will be able to store saved pictures on internal memory as well as externally on SD cards. They'll also be able to upload them to the Wii's Photo Channel. Players will also be able to purchase software through the unit using the upcoming DSWare online store and Nintendo Points. The DSi will also allow for mp3 playback, with track controls assigned to the unit's touch screen.
The DSi is due for release in Japan at the start of November; there's no word on when it might escape to the rest of the world.
