Gameplanet has met with Nintendo Australia in an official capacity to discuss Nintendo distribution in New Zealand.

During our meeting, the Nintendo representatives based out of Melbourne took great effort to assure us that despite the loss of SPI, Nintendo never had any intention of walking away from its kiwi obligations.

Nintendo confirmed with us that since the demise of SPI they have been working solidly on a solution to provide supply and support from Australia to New Zealand customers, alongside distribution agent A.I.D. This solution will be put into place shortly. You can read more about how this will work here. Nintendo have also confirmed that A.I.D. will not be their total distribution solution in New Zealand, they will be a component of how their products will be distributed.
