Ubisoft has released a new trailer (below) for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2, the sixth title in the best-selling Rainbow Six tactical-shooter franchise. Vegas 2 is due for release here on 20th March, for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Following on from the award-winning Rainbow Six Vegas, Vegas 2 features an intense single-player campaign with new gameplay additions and visuals, plus co-op and adversarial modes.

The trailer, titled "Story Co-op Featurette", showcases the game's co-op mode. The co-op experience has been reduced to a maximum of two players, down from four in the original game, but players can now experience the full single-player campaign in co-op, complete with AI teammates who can be given orders by the primary player.

The lead character from the previous game, Logan Keller, has been removed; instead, players can customise their own character, called Bishop, to play through the campaign. Bishop is a member of the Rainbow squad, and will be more deeply involved in the story. The story itself is "part sequel, part prequel", with events running parallel to the story of Logan Keller from the first game.

Players will be able to customise their character using experience points earned in both single-player and multiplayer. New weapons and equipment are unlocked based on the player's playing style.

There will be 11 new weapons, 13 multiplayer maps, 2 new game modes and improvements to the online functionality to make it easier to find and join online sessions.
