Sumthing Else Music Works, Inc., through its licensing relationship with Microsoft Game Studios, is releasing a Fable Original Soundtrack featuring the Fable Theme by Danny Elfman and musical score by Russell Shaw. The soundtrack from the Xbox roleplaying adventure game, developed by Peter Molyneux and Lionhead Studios, was released at the weekend through Sumthing.com.
Danny Elfman, three-time Academy Award-nominee and Grammy Award winner, is best known for his unique musical style and has contributed to the soundtracks of dozens of popular films including Chicago, Batman, Spider-Man, Men in Black, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Beetlejuice.
Russell Shaw, Audio Director and Composer at Lionhead Studios, expanded on Elfman’s theme to create the orchestral soundtrack for the ultimate roleplaying adventure gaming experience. Shaw’s previous scoring credits include Black and White.
Fable has recently received industry honours for the music in the game including the award for Outstanding Achievement in Original Musical Composition at the Eighth Annual Interactive Achievement Awards ceremony, hosted by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) at the D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas. In addition the music in Fable has won Best Score from Xbox Nation Magazine and from Play Magazine.
